Is Michael Schumacher really the Stig?
Jun 22 2009, 1:31 PM EDT | Post edited: Jun 22 2009, 1:31 PM EDT
Some say last night's big "reveal" was just a season-premiere stunt. Do you think Schumacher really is The Stig? Or was it all a joke?

I'm voting joke. Schumacher didn't really carry himself like Stiggy, and it's exactly the kind of prank Clarkson & company love to pull...

Here is a great article that thinks that Schumacher being the stig is a prank as well... I never knew that his salary from Ferrari was $80,000,000... it looks like I am in the wrong career field... I need to become a racecar driver!

My vote is no. The myth of the Stig is an integral part of how the show works. Revealing who the Stig really is would completely change the tone of the entire production. It'd be like watching a mystery movie but finding out who the culprit is within the first five minutes. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Schumacher is probably the only person insured to drive the Ferrari, therefore they had to make him the "STIG" 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I think why they had to pull that stunt of was firstly a big practical joke and secondly the Ferrari FXX is so important to Ferrari that they didnt even the let its owners take it home.
So, Ferrari would'nt trust Top Gear with not scrutinizing their image; hence Top Gear needed a Driver who would qualify Ferrari's requirements. = Michael Schumacher. Because there is a rumour that 1 FXX was gifted to Schumi.

No way, it's definitely not Schumacher.

The new season starts next week here in New Zealand, can't wait to watch it, they keep repeating old episodes and I've seen like all of em lol.

i vote no,
partly because i really dont want it to be micheal schumacker
and partly because i have my own suspicions of who it is. if any one has the dvd "back in the fast lane" which is the best bits of series 1 & 2 you'll see that when they are testing the mclaren f1 they use one person then quickly switch to a different person who " knows what he's dooing"
if youve got the dvd go and watch it nowyoull see who i mean

No. Michael Jackson was once... See below:

On a serious note, I believe the 'Stig' is a group of drivers which varies. They want to have a 'control' (in a scientific term) as much as possible. If you know what I mean.
