Dan Akroyd - aka Elwood Blues " It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses." Jake Blues " Hit it."
He also has played law enforcement on the road in Michael Moore's "Canadian Bacon" as an Ontario Provinicial Policeman (as well as an Oscar for Driving Miss Daisy - where he didn't get to drive)
Dan Akroyd is a Canadian Classic and a recognized gearhead. I also think he was the landshark on Saturday Night LIve or maybe it was his idea?
He would make a great guest for a star in the reasonably priced car

Imagine that you were given free creative license to create the most elaborate motoring program ever known to man... what would you do? what cars? what challenge? who would? drive them? etc.
Be original and creative... who knows what may happen with these posts... you may see your idea on tv in the future!!!

Jeremy would find the firestorm spark plug maker and put a new set of those plugs into the reasonably priced car with Bob Krupa, the inventor at the wheel. Check the clock and the fuel consumption. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abwXApkLhbc

I see several on here complaining about the show getting boring and you never test anything except high end super cars. Well keep doing exactly what your doing. I for one can't afford a $250,000 super car so the closest I will ever get is watching your show. I love the humor on the show and often get jealous at the fun you three seem to have at your job. I mean what car car would love to go to work everyday if they had your jobs? I do think your a little harsh on our American cars but that's fine, I still think it's entertaining the way you sum them up. Our cars are different but them our roads are different also. I think the only episode that I got a little bent over was years ago when you drove a Ford Lightning. At the time I owned one and loved it, wish I had never sold it. I can see how it would not fit in your area but over here we actually haul stuff in the bed of the truck. I used mine to pull my bass boat and I even used it to pull my drag car to the track. Some days I would leave the drag car at home and drive the Lightning to the track, run the quarter mile in the low 12's and then drive it to work the next day. Bottom line is I love the show and if there is ever an opening let me know! I'll eve relocate at my own expense. Keep up the good work and lets get some more episodes on the air.

Some say last night's big "reveal" was just a season-premiere stunt. Do you think Schumacher really is The Stig? Or was it all a joke?
I'm voting joke. Schumacher didn't really carry himself like Stiggy, and it's exactly the kind of prank Clarkson & company love to pull...

See below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNxyEAgBQxo On a serious note, I believe the 'Stig' is a group of drivers which varies. They want to have a 'control' (in a scientific term) as much as possible. If you know what I mean.

just wondered why do topgear always go on about the veyron yet even when the ultimate aero broke the veyrons record they only had a picture why do we never get to see them test it? i think they should include it in a episode and test it properly as when it was tested it was on a 2-3 mile highway by a 70 year old man unlike the veyrons 5 mile specilst test track also in a drag race against the veyron it pulled one car length ahead every gear and at 180mph was nearly 7 car lengths ahead as well its a lot cheaper about 180k dollars compared to buggati 1.6 million pounds and it looks better

Dear Sir/Madam
After the most recent episode of Top Gear (episode 5, season 15), the Norwegian press decided to publish an article in one of the country's largest news papers (in English terms, e.g The Guardian). I thought, as I read this article, Clarkson, May and Hammond might be mildly interested, considering their work on British TV promoting the Norwegian culture. In the past few seasons of Top Gear, Norway has been presented as a pretty awesome country, including such things as the Mini Ski Jump and the Lillehammer Special episode. However, unfortunately, our media is becoming more and more like the British media. I have attached an article translated by Google Translate for you peruse.
http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kjendis.no%2F2010%2F07%2F26%2Fkjendis%2Ftom_cruise%2Ftop_gear%2Fjeremy_clarkson%2Fcameron_diaz%2F12719710%2F%23comment_4869377&sl=no&tl=en
This is obviously annoying, and I would like Clarkson & co to address it, because it is nowhere near the opinion of the Norwegian public. Behind, maybe possibly, Doctor Who, Top Gear is one of the most viewed English shows in Norway, pirated or otherwise.
Under the article in the comments, almost every commenter protested against the blatant paparazzi-ism of the article. Norway will always be behind Top Gear and its cast and its crew. We sincerely appreciate your attention to our country, even in season 15 when you haven't yet visited, but you've mentioned us a few times (noticeably Hammond's hat and Stig's flags).
(If you want to have a go at translating the Norwegian comments to the article, I am including the link, as these comments could not be translated by Google;
http://www.kjendis.no/2010/07/26/kjendis/tom_cruise/top_gear/jeremy_clarkson/cameron_diaz/12719710/#comment_4869380 ).

Ever since the christmas show (Bolivian jungle, when Hammond got out of his 4x4 at the and and it rolled down the hill...please) the stunts are now far to apparent that they are stage. Its got to the point enough is enough.
The intro to stig is worn out ie some say blah blah blah
Theres nothing but super car revues...this is purely to pleasure the presenters. Lets have some more affordable cars.
The presenters just blow smoke up each others butts.
Its over, it needs a re vamp/complete change

they just (last week, I've been slacking and they don't show it on American TV) put the Camaro out on the track, thats moderately priced. of course i don't think that i would be as excited it they test drove honda hybrids and toyota carollas. But everyone is entitled to ones own opinion.

If it's true top gear are making their last series ever! I'd really miss it.
But as suggestion for a theme they could do the entire show in reverse! start with a bombshell end with the opening theme. the idea being top gear slips into Reverse gear. some ideas for the show.
see how fast stig can go around the track in reverse. whats the world record for the fastest car driven in reverse, does anyone know? take all the cars off the cool wall. have a guest who's name can be spelt both way. (may be not)
I thought this is a good suggestion, what does anyone else think?
